In 1634 the first English Catholic settlers arrived on St. Clement's Island just down the river within view of what is now our parish. As members of Holy Ghost Catholic Church, we are part of the long and venerable tradition begun by those courageous souls 370 years ago, who hewed out of the wilderness their homes, their meeting places and their houses of worship.
